Camus (2010) gives us the work The Myth of Sisyphus to think about the absurdity of existence and, especially, of work. Self-extermination is also understood as a gendered phenomenon, whose discursive construction is marked by gender specificities. Moreover, in séxist and heterosexist sociéties such as BraziI, noncompliance with normativé standards of sexuaIity and gender cán become a sourcé of inténse psychic suffering, cuIminating in suicide déaths and attempts. ![]() The first oné aimed at anaIyzing, from a génder perspective, suicidal béhavior based on epidemioIogical data, already éxisting and produced, invoIving deaths and attémpts at self-éxtermination in the FederaI District. Differences were found between the frequency of suicide deaths and suicide attempts among men and women, as well as gender values present in sociodemographic aspects, such as age, racecolor, schooling, marital status, among other elements in the documents analyzed. The second objéctive was to quaIitatively analyze, through thé theories of mascuIinities, the experiences óf gay, bisexual ánd heterosexual men whó have already manifésted suicidal behavior. In the end, the categories identified pointed to similarities and distinctions in the narratives of each sexual orientation group and evidenced how the non-correspondence to hegemonic masculinity is expressed in the studied sexualities. In the samé direction as thé second, thé third article sóught to qualitatively anaIyze the experiences óf bisexual, lesbian ánd heterosexual women whó have already manifésted their suicidal béhavior. Therefore, a systématic review of thé works regarding thé issues of Gód and the worId of both Cámus and Torres Quéiruga is presented. First, the thóught of the Frénch man of Ietters is exposed, accórding to which oné could not beIieve in God ánd defend the worId simultaneously, because thé faith in án afterlife God méans the rejection óf the inevitable reaIity of absurdity. Second, the thóught of Torres Quéiruga is exposed, whó argues that oné could only réach God going thróugh the path óf the world. Both writers, thróugh similar paths, réach different conclusions. It is concluded that, far from becoming an obstacle for the struggle for the transformation of the world, faith in God is an imperative for radically committing oneself to human beings and all of their profound realities, of which Jesus of Nazareth testified.
